We had a great time yesterday looking at all the animals and eating BBQ and scones at the fair. Finley said his favorite part was the little baby pigs.
Finley wanted to ride the train with Daddy. So we hoped on the new light rail and rode from the beginning in Tukwila to the end at Westlake. It was a long trip and I think too long for Finley, but we still had a good time.
Then we walked around downtown, hand a treat and rode the train back home.
It was a nice relaxing day.

Samantha started her first day of middle school. So far she seems to really be enjoying it. We hope this year is challenging and that she does well.

Finley start his 2nd year in preschool on Friday last week and LOVES it. This year I will go with him one day and drop him off the other day. I am kind of nervous, but I am sure he’ll do great.

Megan’s neighbor inspired me to try to can some peaches. Last weekend we went and bought a 20lb box of Elberta Peaches. Today I decided I better can them before either Finley ate them all or they went bad. So I washed my jars, sterilized everything, peeled the peaches, made the syrup and packed them in and then boiled the jars. I learned a few things along the way. 1. Don’t start peeling your peaches too early – they get brown. 2. Pack the jars full so that when things shift you don’t have gaps – I was afraid of squishing the fruit. 3. Don’t splash yourself with hot boiling water – it hurts.
Here are pictures of my canning experience. I will definitely do it again. Having the peaches will be so worth it this winter. I might try one more batch of peaches and attempt some pickles.
